Mystory@Bala Krishna

My college days involved a lot of rigorous reading. Our lecturers and professors helped us in all ways possible. One thing is for sure: we never had an opportunity to use the web effectively and efficiently. We were mostly trained the traditional way, without any great exposure to the real world. We never knew what was happening outside the four walls of the class and there was hardly any connectivity between internal classes and the external exponential growth of the world.

We were all moving as a good team but, we all felt that something was amiss. We were not able to understand, analyze and comprehend what exactly it was which was missing and would complete the picture. The introduction of smart phone technologies and a combination of integrated technologies could definitely have helped.

We had little exposure towards extra-curricular activities but we managed to win some prizes with the little ECA that we were involved in. We understood that we could achieve anything through team effort. We had great team spirit and strove for educational excellence.

In these times, laptops and smartphones are common and are found with every student who enrolls for a graduate programme. We never had an opportunity to have smart devices, the world that is digitally wired now was not so developed then. But still, we managed out struggles with the help of reading books and magazines as they were the greatest source of knowledge.

The difference today is that, instead of waiting for an opportunity, one can create their own opportunity to be employed and to become an employer also. Startups, for example, are a great thing to have happened. In our times, we were not encouraged to start out on our own. There was never backup support from educational institutions. As days went by, our three Eโ€™s (Education, Experience and Efficiency) also improved albeit within some boundaries.

Provided a chance we would love to become students again and use the latest training and teaching techniques that actively involve the web. We would love to go for seminars, webinars, online teachings, facebook groups, knowledge chats, benchmarking standards, exposure to multi-culture, traditions and multi-skilled people coming under one roof for creating the future.

My college education helped me in many ways. I am in this position today owing to what I learnt in college. The key things that I learnt in college were team building, team spirit and moving together as one thought. Education helped me improve my all-round skills. Although we missed out on a large number of activities such as internships, challenges, incubation programs, live programs, web driven mechanisms, integrated edutainment etc. and as I realise today, leadership is something that should be focused on.

Todayโ€™s work is defined by speed. Speed defines the winners in a corporate world, the IOT (Internet of Things) devices and IOT services that are available today will deliver and accelerate work at amazing speeds.

The greatest thing that inspires me is listening to thoughts and speeches made by great people, achievers, challengers and those who have set new benchmarks in todayโ€™s age. Tedx Talks, Ink Talks, Josh talks, Onion talks etc. and lots more, provide us a great opportunity to listed to the best

I feel that short term courses and online exams give us an opportunity to move forward in todayโ€™s age. One should keep themselves and their skills updated through these at all times. The greatest pleasure in life is to do what you like to do. Sometimes we need to win, sometimes we need to learn. Both are important to move forward for creating benchmarks. Dreaming is the greatest thing that one can do, keeping some realistic boundaries into consideration. All the latest futuristic gadgets such as HoloLens, Google Soli, Google Glass, Virtual Reality, Holographic Virtual Projections were all dreams once upon a time, there were worked on and were converted to reality. Dream, Dream, Dream Big.

Itโ€™s now, your turn to create and leave a mark of your existence of realizing the vision for the future. Now question yourself, what would you do for your next generation students?
