The GD here consists of 7-8 members in a single group. It can go up to 10 also. The panelists who conduct GD also conduct the PI.

Following are the key factors of GD-

  1. The GD completely depends upon the panelists. It can be an abstract topic or any topic of current affairs. It can also be regarding any generalized topic. For example, during my GD the topic given was - β€œWhether women empowerment is good in the real world or not?”
  2. The time given for GD is 8 minutes and then everyone is given 30 seconds to say the summary of the topic.

Members should take care of the following parameters while presenting themselves in GD-

  1. If one of the members is starting the GD, one should not fight or resist the member.
  2. If you are the one who is starting the GD, remember that your leadership quality will be shown. One should continue being the leader further also. Saying that, for instance, if one of the group members is not able to say anything or is not getting any chance to say, then the leader should come forward and say - β€œI think one of my friends here is not getting any chance to speak, he/she should be given a chance to speak.”
  3. One should not wait for other members to speak. Be an opportunist and always be ready with the points in mind to speak as soon as you get an opportunity.
  4. One should not get involved in any form of argument with any other member.
  5. One should not comment on anyone’s life or look. This thing should be strictly avoided.
  6. One should be clear with the facts and figures they are saying. One should not blabber about anything without knowing the real facts.
  7. One should let other members speak.
  8. There is no elimination round in GD. All the students appearing GD are eligible to attend the PI.
  9. What if you have no information or idea regarding the topic given? Wait for some time and grasp some points from everyone. Based on those points get an idea of the topic and adding some more points, modify the earlier points or wait for the end of the discussion and say the conclusion effectively.
