UPCPMT 2012 on June 3!

UP-CPMT or Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre Medical Test is an entrance examination taken by aspirants seeking admission into various undergraduate degree programs in the medical and dental institutes in Uttar Pradesh. These medical courses include:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
- Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
- Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
- Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
The exam is conducted by CSM Medical University - Lucknow, on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The authority governing UPCPMT 2012 is the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training, UP. A total of 41 government/private institutes take in aspirants through UP-CPMT. Out of these, 8 institutes offer MBBS, 15 Institutes offer BDS and rest of the institutes offer BAMS/BHMS/BUMS.

Eligibility requirements:
- Applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh
- Applicant must have successfully cleared 10+ or equivalent examination with atleast 50% aggregate marks (40% in case of SC/ST) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- In addition to this, applicant must also have cleared English as a subject.
- Applicants appearing for class XII exams in 2012 are also eligible to apply.
Pattern:
This objective type entrance exam of 200 marks encompasses two papers of two hours each. The test abides by the 10+2 or HSC syllabus pattern employed by most of the education boards in India.
