Admission criteria to SMS Medical College is both, merit and entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. National Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMS) Jaipur falls in the category of Tier 2 for medical institutes in India.

It is a good institution, and generally, it boasts an excellent record of academics; however, not on par with the medical colleges that rank high on the list of India. Though, it does not mean that NIMS, Jaipur does not guarantee quality education and training in medical sciences.

It goes without saying that the understanding of a Tier 1 versus a Tier 2 institution varies with rankings, reputation, infrastructure, and faculty. Always recommended: research and comparison of several such institutions before making a decision.
