Bihar to offer free online tuition to classes 9 to 12 students

Bihar government has partnered with Filo to provide access to students across the state access a qualified tutor 24x7 to solve problems, clear concepts, and learn on a 1:1 basis

The Government of Bihar has entered into a statewide partnership with Filo an instant live tutoring app, to offer free access to its platform to all students of class 9 to 12 from over 9000 Government Schools of Bihar.

The initiative will come at no cost to over 45 lakh students who will now have immediate access to vetted professional tutors on the platform for 1:1 personalized learning. This makes Bihar, the first state government in India to democratize and provide equitable academic support to its students beyond the classrooms; an area that has so far been the preserve of only a privileged few who could afford it (in the form of coaching).

Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Education Minister of Bihar while announcing the partnership said: "We are proud to be the first state government to offer live instant tutoring support to our students. I wholeheartedly congratulate the founders of Filo to come up with such a platform whose aim is to help the students in their learning progression and offer spot solutions 24/7. Filo is true to the meaning of its name where the mission of the app is to handhold students in their after-school learning and help them solve their learning problems just like a friend does in our normal lives."

Filo has been founded by a team of serial entrepreneurs and experienced engineers, Imbesat Ahmad (IIT Kharagpur), Shadman Anwer (IIT Delhi), and Rohit Kumar (IIT Kharagpur).
