Cancel NIOS Exams 2020, Promote 10th 12th students: Urges NIOS Students

While NIOS postponed the practical exams of the NIOS 10th 12th classes, no official notification is out yet regarding the theory exams. Here's what students are demanding...

Days after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) confirmed the cancellation of the CBSE 10^thand CBSE 12^th pending Board Exams in the Supreme Court, many students of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) across the country are also hoping for the cancellation of NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th exams. According to the NIOS 10th Date Sheet 2020 and NIOS 12th Date Sheet 2020 the 10^th 12^th board exams are scheduled in July-August.

While the open schooling institute postponed the practical exams for NIOS 10^thand NIOS 12^th classes due to the increase in the novel coronavirus cases in the country, students are wondering if their 10^th 12^th theory exams would be postponed as well. NIOS, an "Open School" caters to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. Over 3 lakh students in the country are to appear for NIOS Board exams, scheduled from July 17 to August 13.

NIOS, in a statement assigned by B Venkateswaran, Director Evaluation, stated, "Due to the increase in coronavirus cases all over the country, NIOS practical examinations rescheduled from July 2 up to July 10, 2020 stands postponed till further orders.” However, the board is quite regarding the theory exams. 

This left the students all the more anxious. Not just are they wanting the cancellation of their theory exams but are also urging the board to promote them. 

NIOS Board Exams 2020: Specially-abled students more concerned

The parents of specially-abled students appearing for the exams shared the challenges they're likely to face during the examination process. Parents revealed that amid the coronavirus scare, finding scribes for their specially-abled students would be difficult. Even if they find scribes, their children will have to sit close to them which would compromise on the social distancing norm, thereby putting lives at stake. They further requested all NIOS Board students to be promoted on the basis of their Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA). 

NIOS Results 2020: 10th 12th Results delayed

With postponed NIOS 10th 12th exams, NIOS 10 Results 2020 and NIOS 12th Results 2020 would be delayed as well. The continuous postponement and delay are creating a sense of anxiety and stress among students. It is expected that NIOS would come up with a plan regarding the exams and delayed results soon.
