Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will begin with the conduct of practical exams 2021 for Classes 10th and 12th, including projects and internal assessment, from March 1 and conclude by June 11. According to the Board, while the exams will be held in students’ respective schools, authorities will have to upload the marks immediately after the assessment is over. External as well as internal examiners will be present during the exam.

The board has also released detailed marks distribution for the assessment on its website. The practical exams will be held only by an external practical examiner appointed by the board.

In case the exams are not held while following all the guidelines, they will be cancelled and students will be awarded marks based on what they score in the theory component of the subject concerned. An observer will also be appointed by the board to supervise the conduct of exams.

Throughout the conduct of exams, COVID19 protocols shall be followed. A batch of 25 students will be divided into two sub-groups. The labs should be sanitized before holding the exam. Wearing masks, maintaining social distancing protocol will be mandatory.

Schools will have to prepare entry and exit norms for students based on the location and infrastructure of laboratories and also mark entry signs to the labs, to ensure social distancing. Students will have to wash their hands before and after the practical exam, as per the guidelines.

For students who have COVID19 symptoms or those who feel unwell, the exam will be conducted separately. Non-compliance with instructions will invite a fine of Rs 50,000 on the schools.
