The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) can release the CBSE 10th results 2020 and CBSE 12th results 2020 by August 15, 2020, said the Union Human Resource Development Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. The reports also suggest that this year also, the Board would follow the same pattern of releasing the 10th board results and 12th board results at an interval of a few days. 

CBSE 10th Results 2020 Date

The CBSE board results 2020 got delayed this year along with many other state board results due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by multiple lockdowns imposed in order to contain the virus spread. According to the CBSE Class 10 date sheet 2020, the CBSE 10th board exams 2020 started on February 15 and was supposed to conclude on March 20, 2020. The last exam i.e.  Computer Applications examination which got postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak now stands cancel according to the decision taken by the board.

However, the students of the Delhi’s North East District are yet to appear for CBSE 10th board exams 2020 as exams of multiple subjects got postponed in the area due to the riots that took place in the wake of Citizen’s Amendment Act (CAA).

Latest Update:

According to the revised CBSE 10th date sheet release specifically for the CBSE Class 10 students of the Delhi’s North East District, the 10th board exams will be conducted between July 1 and July 15, 2020. Almost one month after the conduction of these exams CBSE will release the 10th board results 2020.

CBSE 10th Result 2020 Passing Marks Criteria

Students should obtain a grade higher than E in all 5 subjects in order to qualify the CBSE 10th Class Result 2020. The passing mark for each subject is 33 per cent. CBSE Board will follow the 9-point grading system to award a certain grade in CBSE high school result 2020.

CBSE Class 10 Results 2020 Compartment Exam

Students need not feel disappointed if they couldn't qualify the CBSE 10th Board Exams 2020 or couldn't get the expected CBSE 10th results 2020. These students still have a second chance to improve their CBSE 10th scores. Students can avail a chance for improvement by appearing for CBSE 10th compartment exams in the first week of September 2020 (tentative). The compartment CBSE 10th date sheet will be released online. In 2019, the class 10th compartment exams were held from July 2 to 10, 2019. In order to appear for CBSE 10th compartment exams, students have to fill the CBSE compartmental form and pay the required fee through the online portal. CBSE 10th result 2020 for compartment exams will be released in the last week of September 2020 (tentative).

Students who are not satisfied with CBSE 10th result 2020 can apply for the process of verification and re-evaluation. CBSE will release the application for re-evaluation and verification in the third week of August 2020. In order to apply for CBSE Class 10 Results revaluation, students will have a period of 5-6 days to apply. The application needs to be submitted with a revaluation fee of Rs. 500 per subject. The payment can be made through gateway/net banking, debit/credit card (both national/ international). Only students who apply for verification can request for photocopy(ies) of the answer sheets. The processing fee for obtaining a photocopy of the answer booklet will be Rs. 500 per subject.

How to calculate CGPA of CBSE Class 10 Result 2020?

Step 1: Add your grade points of the main five subjects

Step 2: Now, divide it by 5

For example, if your grade points for the five main subjects are: 9, 8, 9, 9 and 7, then

Step 1: Add the grade points: 9+8+9+9+7 = 42

Step 2: Divide it by 5; 42/5 = 8.4

Thus, your CGPA will be 8.4.

CBSE 10th Results 2020: How to convert CGPA into the percentage

  • In order to convert overall CGPA into the percentage, multiply CGPA with 9.5.
  • For example, When CGPA is 8.4, it should be multiplied by 9.5,
  • Thus, 8.4 x 9.5 = 79.80%

How to check CBSE 10th Result 2020 online

Once released, CBSE 10th students can follow the steps listed below to check their CBSE class 10 result 2020.

  • Visit the official website at cbseresults.nic.in.
  • Enter credentials like Roll no, DOB, school name, the centre no, admit card id, all of which is available on the CBSE 10th admit card 2020
  • Then click on ‘Submit’
  • The result of CBSE 10th 2020 gets displayed on the screen
  • Click on the download button or take a screenshot of the result

Steps to check CBSE 10th result 2020 via SMS

To check the result of CBSE 10th conveniently, students are also given the option to check it by sending an SMS through their registered mobile number on 7738299XXX, in the given format: 

    CBSE10, Roll No., DOB, school number, centre number.

  • Log in to Digilocker by using either the CBSE registered mobile number or student’s Aadhaar number.
  • It sends an OTP to the registered mobile number.
  • After entering the OTP, students will be able to generate their profile on Digilocker.
  • After successfully logging in, students will be able to view their CBSE 10th result 2020.
