CBSE will conduct the Class 10th, 12th board examinations 2021 in May. Practical examinations are likely to be conducted in January/February in schools. CBSE officials refuted any rumour of online examinations.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct CBSE practical board examinations 2021 in the offline mode in schools, confirmed board official Sanyam Bhardwaj refuting all rumours of examinations to be conducted online. The CBSE datesheet 2021 will be released soon on the official website. The practical exams are likely to be conducted in January and February while theoretical exams will be held around May, all in written or offline mode in schools.

β€œCBSE 2021 Practical Exams would be conducted in school labs and not in online labs (0-Labs),” confirmed Controller of Exams Sanyam Bhardwaj while speaking on important points with respect to practical, syllabus, paper pattern and exam dates. To dispel the confusion caused by multiple reports on social media, Bhardwaj recently conducted a meeting with select principals of CBSE affiliated schools to clarify the points in regards the upcoming Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021. He spoke on the mode of practical exams, paper pattern, exam dates and other pressing concerns.

The senior official confirmed that the CBSE 12th and CBSE 10th practical papers 2021 would be conducted only after the schools reopen. The important points of the meetings are summed below.

CBSE Board Exams 2021: Important points to note

  • CBSE Class 10, 12 Practical examination would be conducted only after schools reopen. The dates for the same will be shared in due course of time.
  • Paper pattern and typology for the question papers would remain the same as mentioned in the website. The CBSE sample papers are now made available on cbseacademic.nic.in
  • No further reduction in syllabus for the CBSE board exams 2021 is being planned
  • CBSE practical examinations would be conducted at the schools as usual and external examiner would be present
  • No circular has been issued for online practical examinations. They will be conducted at school labs as usual.
  • CBSE Board Exam 2021 would not be conducted at self-centres or β€˜own schools’. The board would instead significantly increase the number of exam centres
  • No more than 12 students would be allowed to be seated in a class for the board exam 2021
  • CBSE 2021 date sheet would be published later and the the dates of examination will be declared only in consultation with stakeholders. CBSE would also be giving sufficient time for preparation.
  • Three sets of question papers with same difficulty level will be provided. In case any set is found to be of a higher difficulty level, moderation will be considered.
  • There will be no change in marking scheme for Class 10. It’ll remain the same as 80+20 where 80 marks will be allotted for theory paper and 20 for internal evaluation.

Apart from the points above, he also shared that the schools can assess the co-scholastic areas. As for the administrative work, CBSE would be releasing new software for the schools soon to manage the exams. The new software would have separate login ID for schools as well as students.

Encouraging schools to be enthusiastic about Art Integration Activities, which have been introduced from this year, he shared that there would be no liberalisation and that the schools have to complete the same. The report proforma for the same, however, would remain available on the website.

In the end he has also urged all only refer to the official website and communication channels when it comes to information regarding the upcoming board examinations.
