The decision to shift school hours was taken to protect students from the severe midday heat. Parents and guardians are advised to ensure students attend school during the revised morning schedule to avoid heat-related issues.
Shala Pravesh Utsav 2025: Festive Start to Academic Year
Despite the scorching weather, the new academic session officially began on June 16 with the celebration of “Shala Pravesh Utsav” (School Admission Festival). Schools across Chhattisgarh welcomed students with sweets, tilak ceremonies, and cheerful events.
In Raipur, teachers greeted children with traditional tilaks and sweets, creating a joyful and welcoming atmosphere. Similar celebrations were held in Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, Raigarh, Durg, and Bhilai, reflecting the festive spirit statewide.
Upcoming Enrollment Events in Raipur
Raipur District Education Officer Vijay Khandelwal announced that the Shala Pravesh Utsav will continue with block-level events on June 18 and a district-level celebration on June 20 at a Girls’ School. These events are part of the state’s initiative to boost enrollment and ensure that no child is left behind.
Every School in Chhattisgarh Now Has a Teacher
In a significant educational reform, the Chhattisgarh government has ensured that all schools have at least one teacher. Earlier, 212 primary and 48 pre-secondary schools were operating without a teacher, and over 7,000 schools had only one teacher. After restructuring and rationalisation:
- All schools now have at least one teacher.
- 166 underutilised schools have been merged.
- Schools with zero student enrollment are being reviewed.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai Launches Quality Education Campaign
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed students through a message on his X (formerly Twitter) account, reaffirming the state’s goal of achieving 100% literacy and zero dropout by Class 12, as per the National Education Policy 2020.
He also launched the “Mukhyamantri Shiksha Gunvatta Abhiyan” (Chief Minister’s Education Quality Campaign), a state-level initiative aimed at improving the quality of education and learning outcomes in government schools.
