St Stephen's College released the first cut off for the undergraduate courses with the highest cut-off for 99.25 percent for the BA (Hons) Economics for the students from commerce background. In 2019, the cut-off for the BA (Hons) English and BA (Hons) Economics was set at 98.75 percent for students from the commerce background. The cut-off for the humanities programme is 98.75 percent and 98 percent for the science stream, students. BA (Hons) English cut-off stands at 99 percent for commerce students and 98.75 percent for science and humanities stream students. The cut-off for the course is higher by 0.25 percent for commerce and science students.

As per the experts, with high cut-off set by St.Stephens College, other colleges are also expected to have higher cut-off. Dean of DU Admissions, Shobha Bagai stated that the cut-off is likely to be announced after October 12, 2020. A schedule has been sent to the administration and is awaiting the UGC Calendar and is hopeful that the schedule for the cut-offs will be announced this week.
With regard to the probability of cut-offs being higher, the dean said that it is not that the university will be arbitrarily increasing the cut-offs. The officials have stated that the cut-offs will be determined by the number of applicants falling under a certain bracket.
