NIOS 10th 12th Results 2020 to be released soon. Read further to know the details.
The Supreme Court on July 15, 2020, said the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) must ensure that NIOS Results 2020 of the current academic year are declared by August 7.
As reported earlier, On July 10, NIOS issued an official notification regarding the cancellation of the NIOS 10th as well as NIOS 12th examinations, which were earlier rescheduled, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The same was informed by a bench headed by Justice A M Khanwilkar during the hearing. The Bench also comprising Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna stated, "Considering the fact that...NIOS has already issued notification on July 10, 2020, after institution of these petition(s), nothing survives for consideration in the present writ petition(s) except to observe that...NIOS must ensure that the result for the current academic year is declared not later than August 7, 2020." "In other words, the time-line for declaring the results by...NIOS is now specified as August 7," the bench said.
The NIOS, in its latest notification, clearly stated that it has been decided that "conduct of March 2020 secondary and senior secondary course public examination rescheduled to commence from July 17, 2020 and further postponed, now stands cancelled". As per the original NIOS 10th Datesheet 2020 and NIOS 12th Datesheet 2020, the NIOS exams 2020 for classes 10 and 12 were scheduled to begin from March 24, 2020, and conclude on April 24 2020.
Two petitions against the conduct of the NIOS 10th and 12th exams amid the outbreak of the pandemic were filed. One of the petitions had sought the top court's direction for cancelling the pending exams to be conducted by NIOS and also for declaration of results of classes X and XII examinations. The Supreme Court’s order came in the view of the petitions.
Meanwhile, along with the notice of the cancellation of the NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th exams, NIOS also released the assessment scheme for declaring the NIOS 10th Result 2020 and NIOS 12th Result 2020 for the past learners as well as the first-time learners. As per the official NIOS notification regarding the NIOS 10th, 12th exams 2020 cancellation, the NIOS 10th Result 2020 and NIOS 12th Results 2020 will be compiled according to the assessment scheme.
