Rajasthan Assembly Passes Finance and Appropriation Bills

CM Talks Water Security and Economic Growth
Addressing the Assembly, Chief Minister Sharma highlighted the Haryana government's formation of a task force to prepare a joint Detailed Project Report (DPR) aimed at bringing Yamuna water to Rajasthan, a crucial step toward improving water security in the state.
The Chief Minister also provided updates on the progress of projects initiated at the Rising Rajasthan Summit. He revealed that MoUs worth INR 3 lakh crore signed at the Investor Summit would be implemented by March 30, a move aimed at boosting the state’s economic growth.
He also compared the effectiveness of various investment initiatives, stating that while Congress had signed MoUs worth INR 12.5 lakh crore, only a fraction of it was implemented. Conversely, the BJP government had signed MoUs worth INR 35 lakh crore, with INR 2.24 lakh crore already in progress.
Leader of Opposition Challenges RSS and State Government
In a strong rebuttal, Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully accused the state government of succumbing to the influence of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh), alleging that they had altered several government rules at the behest of the organization. He also challenged the RSS to take "real steps" towards ending untouchability and improving the condition of Dalits in the state.
Jully's remarks were met with heated responses in the Assembly, sparking a brief uproar. In a direct challenge to the RSS, he stated, "If they have the courage, let them launch a campaign in Rajasthan to end untouchability and uplift Dalits."
Criticism Over IIFA Spending and Pensions Delay
Jully also criticized the state government for its spending on the IIFA awards, claiming that more than INR 100 crore were allocated to the event while important religious sites, such as Khatu Shyam ji and Govind Dev ji, were being neglected. He further criticized the government for the delay in disbursing social security pensions, with pensions meant for Diwali still pending as Holi approaches.
Jully claimed this delay reflected the government's lack of concern for the poor and underlined its failure to fulfill its promises to the state's vulnerable population.
