Issues with uploading documents

Issues with uploading documents and scanned copies of photographs/signatures are the most common problems many students encounter when completing the JEE Main 2026 application. JEE Main 2026 Application Form FAQs

Check important frequently asked questions related to JEE Main application form 2026.

Q:   What is the JEE Main exam?
A:

JEE Main is a national-level engineering entrance exam. It is held for candidates who pass the class 12 exam for admission to the best colleges of the nation, like the NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Various top private engineering colleges also accept the JEE Main exam score for admission.

JEE Main is also a qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is mandatory for admission to the IITs.

JEE Main exam is held in India as well as abroad in computer-based test mode. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam twice a year.

The questions in the exam come from the class 11 and 12 level syllabus. prescribed by NTA. The subjects asked in the exam are Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Q:   How much is 120 marks in JEE Mains percentile?
A:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare the JEE Mains result 2026 in the form of percentile scores. Candidates can check here the previous year JEE Main marks vs percentile data to understand how much is 120 marks in JEE Main percentile.

As per the last year JEE Main marks vs percentile analysis, 120 marks would be around 95 to 97 percentile. However, the exact JEE Main 2025 percentile marks 120 would vary depending upon the highest number scored by the candidate in a particula shift and the total number candidates appeared in that particular shift.

Q:   Will NTA change the exam dates of JEE Main if the dates clashes with other exams?
A:

No. NTA has clearly mentioned that ot will not change the dates of JEE Main exam of there is a clash of dates with any other examinations.

Q:   What is the JEE Main eligibility criteria?
A:

Candidates can check the detailed JEE Mains application form on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Q:   Which topics are most important in JEE Main Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics?
A:

Students who are preparing for JEE Main exam are advised to first cover the entire JEE Main syllabus. Covering only the high weightage chapters would decrease their chances of getting full/high score in JEE Main exam. Only after covering the entire syllabus, students can check most important chapters for JEE Mains.

Q:   How should I prepare for JEE Mains and Advanced together?
A:
Students can prepare for both Mains and Advanced together but it is not a wise idea to prepare together as both exams have different syllabus, exam pattern and difficulty level. The difficulty level of JEE Advanced exam is much higher than JEE Mains. If preparing together for both the exams, make a list of topics that are asked in JEE Main as well as Advanced. Solve questions from these topics from NCERT as well as additional books. For JEE Mains, students can stick to NCERT but for JEE Advanced students need to take help from books like HC Verma.

A:

National Testing Agency releases the JEE Main exam syllabus online. You can check the syllabus and know the names of chapters and topics. Here we have provded the detail of chapters in JEE Main syllabus.
