Rajasthan forms six committees for NEP 2020 implementation in state

Samagra Shiksha State Project Director has been nominated as the nodal officer for the implementation of the NEP 2020 in state schools.

Rajasthan has formed six committees for the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the State. Rajasthan State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha has been nominated as the nodal officer for the implementation of the NEP 2020 in state schools.

As per information shared by Union Minister of State in Education Ministry, Annapurna Devi on the implementation of the National Curriculum Framework, 2022 meant for the foundational stage by the Government of Rajasthan she stated that the state government has formed six committees in this regard.
National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (NCFECCE), called Foundational Stage is one of the four stages of the National Curriculum Framework (NCFs).
It is the first-ever integrated Curriculum Framework for children between ages 3-8 in India. It is a direct outcome of the 5+3+3+4 ‘curricular and pedagogical structure that NEP 2020 has come out with for School Education. The NCF for Foundational Stage (NCFFS) has been developed by NCERT through an extensive consultative process with States & UTs up to the grassroots level and various institutions and organisations.
The minister informed that some transformative ideas for implementation of quality school education are included in the Framework, which are- toy-based pedagogy, play as the core of the teaching-learning process, lifestyle for the environment, and learning about the external world. The framework has provided stimulating experiences for the child’s development in all dimensions – cognitive, social-emotional, and physical, to enable the achievement of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy for all children.
“As articulated in NEP 2020, it uses ‘play,’ at the core of the conceptual, operational, and transactional approaches to curriculum organization, pedagogy, time and content organization, and the overall experience of the child. It also lays a clear path for the goal of achieving foundational literacy and numeracy as articulated in NEP 2020, with age-appropriate strategies,” she informed.

The Education Minister’s response in Rajya Sabha stated that as per the information provided by the State government of Rajasthan, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha has been nominated as the nodal officer for the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) in school education by the State government.
Six committees (groups) have been formed for the implementation of the NEP 2020 in the State by the order issued by the Department of School Education and Languages, Government of Rajasthan.
