The notification states that the examination syllabus is reduced by 40 percent for the students for theory aspects.
The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) released the revised syllabus for the upcoming examinations of classes 9 to 12. According to the official notification released by the Board on its official website, the board reduced the syllabus for class 9 to 12 students considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation which resulted in the closure of schools in the state and forced schools to adopt online classes as the preferred teaching method. The notification states that the examination syllabus is reduced by 40 percent for the students for theory aspects. On similar lines, teachers are also given the freedom to reduce the syllabus for practical exams by 40 percent based on the resources available. Candidates appearing for the Rajasthan Board class 9, 10, 11 and 12 Exam in 2021 must note that the revised syllabus is available at the official website of the board.
Since March 2020, just like schools across the country, the schools in Rajasthan state are also closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak followed by the nationwide lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the deadly virus. Taking into account the safety and health of the students, schools shifted to online teaching and virtual classes as a medium of instruction. In such a scenario, the revised syllabus will help reduce the burden on students and teachers about the completion of the curriculum.
Reports indicate that the revised syllabus includes the names and potions from the syllabus for the different classes which have been omitted for the final exams scheduled to be conducted in March 2021.
Meanwhile, the central government in its recent guidelines issued stated that the schools can reopen from September 2020 partially. The schools are reopened partially for the students from class 10 to 12 who are allowed to visit the schools for doubt clearing sessions with the teachers. In order to attend school, students are required to have consent from their parents. States are considering the reopening of schools depending upon the prevailing pandemic situation in their area.
