Like last year, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education is planning to curtail the TS Inter syllabus this year as well.

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) is planning to curtail the TS Inter syllabus 2022. If the proposal is approved by the State government, Intermediate students will be taught only 70 per cent of the actual syllabus, according to officials. The suggestion for slashing of the syllabus came from the Union government, pointing out that a similar move was adopted in the last academic year too.

According to a Board official, “We have received a suggestion from the Union government regarding the reduction of the TSBIE syllabus 2022 as was done in the last academic year. We will be communicating the same to the State government for approval. Accordingly, the Intermediate syllabus will be reduced for the academic year 2021-22. The same will be applicable for exams.”

Last year too, the Intermediate students had covered only 70 per cent of the actual syllabus in the Intermediate Public Examinations due to the Vovid-19 pandemic. The same was reflected in the syllabus for the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2021 syllabus too. In case the Board agree to follow the reduced syllabus this year, the same will be followed for the aforementioned exams too.

Meanwhile, the Board is making elaborate arrangements for conducting the TS Inter first-year Intermediate Public Examinations from October 25 to November 2. These examinations were not conducted earlier due to the pandemic and all first-year students were promoted. However, it was informed that the exams would be conducted at a future date whenever the situation is conducive.

The first-year examinations will have 70 per cent syllabus and exams will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon. Students appearing for these exams will have a more choices among the questions. Accordingly, the Board has prepared the question papers. As some of the first year exams were clashing with the Huzurabad bypoll scheduled to be held on October 30 and counting of votes on November 2, the Board is also looking at alternatives.
