The exams will run from 10 AM to 1:15 PM, with an additional 15-minute window provided to students for reading the question paper.

Focus on Gender Representation in the Exams

This year, the board recorded a higher participation of girls in the WBCHSE HS exams 2025. Out of the 5.09 lakh candidates, 2.77 lakh are girls, making up the majority of the candidates. Notably, in every district across the state, the number of girls outnumbers the boys, with a total of 47,571 more girls participating in the exams than boys. This represents a significant step forward in gender inclusivity in the education system.

New Security Features and Anti-Cheating Measures

WBCHSE has introduced a range of new measures this year to ensure fairness and prevent cheating during the exams. Among the most notable of these are the installation of metal detectors at exam centres, along with a strict ban on mobile phones and other electronic devices. These steps are part of the board’s effort to curb any unfair practices and maintain the integrity of the examination process.

In addition, the question papers and answer sheets will feature special security features, including QR codes and barcodes. These innovations aim to detect any attempts to take photos or video recordings of the question papers and circulate them. The security measures are expected to help identify any wrongdoers swiftly and prevent the spread of exam malpractice.

Requirements for Students and Exam Day Guidelines

Students appearing for the exams must carry their WB Class 12 admit card and a school ID card to the exam centre. The board has advised all candidates to arrive at their respective centres well ahead of the reporting time to avoid any last-minute issues.
