MP will form commission for the expansion of yoga
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Yoga will be developed as a sport and included in the curriculum of school education. A Yoga Commission will be formed in the state for the expansion of Yoga to the masses. Integrating the education of yoga at the school level will help in making education interesting and promoting the health of the students.
He said that continuous improvement is being done in the quality and systems of education in the government schools of the state. Various facilities are also being made available to the students. These efforts towards making education interesting will reduce the attraction of the general public towards private schools.
The results of the ongoing activities in this direction will be visible to the people of the state soon. The aim of education is to impart knowledge, skills and valuesof citizenship. Implementation of an effective method of imparting moral education along with vocational education in the National Education Policy will be ensured in the state.
NEP 2020 Task Force
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the meeting of the Task Force constituted for National Education Policy 2020 held in Mantralaya. Minister of State for School Education (Independent Charge) Inder Singh Parmar, National President of Vidya Bharati Ramakrishna Rao and National General Secretary Ram Aravkar, Principal Secretary School Education Rashmi Arun Shami, members of the Task Force and subject-experts participated.
Chouhan said that there is a need to establish the esteem of labour among the students. Over the years, the education system has reduced the tendency to work and the sense of respect for labour. The National Education Policy has clear provisions for learning local skills and important vocational crafts. These activities will help in inculcating in the students the prestige of labour and a sense of respect for the people doing the labour. The task force will have to work seriously in this direction.
MP CM said that it is necessary to make special arrangements for teacher training, use of IT in school education, implementation of three language schemes for children and education for children of migrating families.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for School Education, Inder Singh Parmar said that a task force has been constituted for the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in the state. In this, 4 Framework Groups for State Curriculum and 25 Focus Groups have been constituted at the State level for the development of State Curriculum Framework. There are 24 non-official members and 26 government members in the task force.
In the meeting information was given about the ongoing activities in the direction of early childhood-care and education, basic literacy and knowledge numbers, curriculum and practice of teaching in schools, reducing dropout children, expansion of education, teacher training, equitable and inclusive education, better utilisation of resources and effective management, CM Rise School, vocational education, adult education, online and digital education and setting standards for school education.
