Cancel DU Open Book Exam 2020: AAP MP writes to Education Minister
In the letter, the Minister stated that many students who travelled back to their hometowns are far away from Delhi and are situated in the village and small towns with almost no internet access would face trouble in appearing for exams.
Delhi University Online exams are all set to begin from July 10, 2020. Recently Sanjay Singh drafted a letter to Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and urged him to cancel the DU exams 2020 i.e. University of Delhi Open Book Exam. The exams are to be conducted for final year UG, PG students of the varsity. In the letter, he stated that many students who travelled back to their hometowns are far away from Delhi and are situated in the village and small towns with almost no internet access would face trouble in appearing for exams.
Mr Singh, in his letter, wrote, "Amid COVID-19 pandemic, centre and state government have decided not to conduct any examination. But DU administration has taken the decision to conduct an online examination of final year student, leaving lakhs of students' future in jeopardy."
He further added, "Students have gone to their home states due to COVID-19 outbreak. A lot of students, who are in far-flung areas of the country, do not have access to the internet for appearing in exams."
DU Open Book Mock Test 2020 Failed Miserably
DU recently conducted a mock examination on July 4. These would continue until July 8, 2020. After appearing for the tests many students complained of facing several issues in the exams. "Students were given the wrong question paper, sites had crashed. Hence, I want you to consider the problems faced by students and cancel the online examination," he informed.
The AAP Minister demanded the Mr Pokhriyal intervention as many universities across the country already cancelled their final year exams. Amid all the chaos, Delhi University decided to conduct the online examination of final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate course, from July 10.
