COVID-19 Surge: BHU suspends online classes till May 15, campus closed
The BHU University Semester Examinations 2021 has also been postponed until June 30. The varsity will be releasing the schedule for the examination after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state.
In view of rising coronavirus cases, the Banaras Hindu University has announced that it will remain closed till May 15. During this period, the online classes will also not be conducted by the varsity, they informed. The decision to close BHU was taken during a meeting headed by VC Vk Shukla. The BHU University Semester Examinations 2021 has also been postponed until June 30. The varsity will be releasing the schedule for the examination after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state at that time.
During the meeting, it was also decided that all the necessary works like Medical Services sanitation electricity supply Dairy agricultural farms will continue as before. Apart from this only head of department teachers and staff can be called for urgent work.
Further, as discussed in the meeting, all the employees living in the University Campus if affected by Corona will have to inform the estate office of University apart from this the employees have been advised to get tested immediately if the symptoms of the coronavirus are understood.
The Banaras Hindu University has also directed that during this time when the campus will be closed, no outsiders will be allowed inside the campus and only the main gate shall remain open for any kind of commute. Students are further advised to keep visiting the official website of BHU for more updates.
Along with BHU, several other Universities in the country including the Delhi University, Lucknow University have also suspended their online classes for a certain duration.
