Gauhati University Exams Postponed! In view of the restrictions imposed in the state considering the increasing COVID-19 cases, Gauhati University (GU) postponed all university exams and has suspended classes in offline mode from today, i.e. April 27. Considering the health and safety of students and staff members amid the COVID-19 surge, Gauhati University decided to shut down all the colleges and other institutions affiliated until May 11. GU in its official statement also informed that, “The rescheduled dates and the modes of conduct of GU exams will be notified shortly.”

“All Examinations in Gauhati University and in its affiliated Colleges/Institutes are also hereby postponed with immediate effect,” read the GU statement.

The University has also asked the hostel residents to vacate their hostels. The GU statement issued on April 26 also directed the hostel borders to carry with them their valuable items including laptops, marksheets and certificates.

Reports suggest that although the university will remain shut until May 11, essential services in the university will run uninterrupted.
