Yes, as BSc admission takes place through the score and rank secured in CUET entrance exam, the candidate has to apply for the exam to gain admission into the programme. Gauhati University does not accept or conduct any other exam for admission into the BSc programme. To be able to take admission to UG courses at Gauhati University, a student has to have completed class 12 from any well-recognized board and fulfilled the required percentage of percentage criteria as determined for that specific course. BSc at Gauhati University is offered in multiple specialisations and accross various affiliated colleges. The mode for most of the programmes is full-time offline mode. That means the candidates have to appear for classes and evaluation at the university campus or the affiliated college. University website has not mentioned any online or distance-learning programmes for its BSc course. Candidates can enquire with their respected college for any distance learning option.

Gauhati University recognises both state and central board scores for admission into the BSc programme. Some of the boards include CBSE, AHSEC, ISCE, ISC etc. Candidates can apply for admission at the university if they have secure a minimum aggregate of 40% from a state or central recognised board. The admission into the programme take place through the CUET-UG entrance exam. So, Candidates will have to appear for that exam once they have cleared their Class 12.

As per the official 2022 brochure released by Guwahati University, admission to BTech is completely entrance-based. While 20% of the total seats for BTech are reserved for students who have passed the JEE Main exam (provided that have the official PRC of the state), the remaining 80% of the seats are filled via the pass out students of Assam CEE. Furthermore, students also have an option to secure lateral entry admission directly to the second year of the BTech course. Admission to BTech Lateral Entry courses is subject to a valid score in JLEE Assam exam.
