Godrej & Boyce ties up with IIT Bombay’s Techfest 2021-22

Godrej & Boyce sponsors competition ‘Packmax’ in line with the company’s commitment towards building sustainable solutions. Three winners will be declared by the end of December. 

Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay’s Techfest for a competition titled ‘Packmax’ that is aimed at driving innovation to create sustainable solutions for the logistics industry. 

Through the competition, participating students from all over the country will create efficient packing solutions that can reduce its carbon footprint, protect goods from damage and reduce shipping costs for the trucking industry. 

Yeesha K, media head at Techfest, IIT Bombay, said, “The association will encourage students to come up with packing solutions that are both environmentally conscious and financially viable. We expect participation in thousands from across India for this competition and hope that the solutions hence created can be taken forward in the real world to do good.” 

Godrej & Boyce, which will sponsor the prize money of INR 1.75 lakh for the most sustainable solutions, will host a question and answer (Q&A) session next week where the company will respond to participant queries on Packmax. The video will be uploaded to the Packmax website apart from being sent to every participant after the session. 

Candidates need to submit work by November 14 

Participating teams will have to first submit an abstract of their work detailing their research and proposed solutions by November 14. Shortlisted participants will submit their final report on December 5 and make a live presentation in front of the judges between December 16 and 19. Three winners will be declared by the end of December.
