GTU Exams 2020: Gujarat Technological University to begin offline final year exam on September 21

Gujarat Technological University, GTU, is all set to begin the final year offline or physical exams from September 21, 2020, onwards. According to the official reports, the varsity also announced that it would be conducting the exams in online mode as well. However, the exams would be based on a multiple-choice question format. The decision is taken by the University following the guidelines issued by the UGC that state that the varsities must complete their final year exams by September 30, 2020. According to the latest details available on the official website of the Gujarat Technological University, approximately 8357 candidates from 153 countries would attempt the third round of exams. GTU Exams 2020: Offline Exam Details
So far, GTU conducted two rounds of online exams in which more than 46,000 students appeared. The exam for UG, PG and diploma course also has 460 students from 17 Indian states appearing. According to the official circular released by the University, “Offline examination will be conducted for all students who has selected Offline option and students who have not selected any of the given two options.” It also states, “ Students will have to appear in this offline examination from the allocated exam centre. Exam centre will be allocated in the Institute which is located in the same district as that of a student’s parent Institute. Such students will have to download their hall ticket from their student’s portal. No further process is required to be carried out by the students.”
The flexibility of appearing in the exams using their mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other electronic devices is given to the students. From September 21, 2020, the candidates who choose to sit for physical exams would have to visit the exams centres on the time mentioned on their admit cards and the students would need to carry their sanitizers and masks to maintain hygiene standards at the exam centres. The reports also suggest that GTU asked various personnel from the varsity to be available for examination duty and to ensure strict social distancing norms.
