Gujarat University has released a tentative examination schedule for Undergraduate and Postgraduate exams for final year students. The varsity will be conducting the exams in two phases, starting on August 21 and August 31. The varsity authorities informed that the final year exams will be conducted in both online and offline mode. Students who are from the state and those from outside the city and country will be given the option to opt for the mode of examinations they want to appear.

Gujarat University, Controller of Examination Kalpen Vora said that while the varsity will be conducting the online exams in the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format, the offline exams will be conducted in a descriptive form where students will be given an option to choose three of the five questions asked. Both the exams will be conducted for 50 marks.

As per the guidelines issued by the Education Department, the examination will be conducted for two hours. However, it is still unclear if the exam time for both online and offline mode will be same or different.

The circular clarified that it is not applicable for those who have already conducted exams at the department level in UG and PG courses. In order to follow social distancing norms for the safety of students appearing for exams amid coronavirus pandemic, the varsity will provide options for students to select the centers and allow students to choose from online or offline exam format. The varsity will also be conducting a special examination for those students who cannot appear for any exams due to any condition, coronavirus infection.
