HP University Final Year Exam 2020 To begin as per Exam Schedule, confirms VC

The announcement came following the Himachal Pradesh High Court clearing the way for holding the Final Year Exams 2020 for college and university students in the state on August 18.

HP University Final Year Exam 2020 Begins: Despite all the rumours and speculations about the HP University Final Year Exams 2020; the Vice-Chancellor informed students that the exams would begin today, i.e. August 19 and will be held according to the schedule announced earlier by the University. The announcement came following the Himachal Pradesh High Court clearing the way for holding the Final Year Exams 2020 for college and university students in the state on August 18.

All the confusion regarding the postponement or cancellation of the HPU Final Year Exams 2020 began after the state High Court issued an order on August 14 putting a stay on the university exams. Following this, the varsity deferred the exam scheduled for August 18 amid confusion over an order of the HC. The court issued the stay on a petition seeking postponement of the examinations due to the coronavirus threat.

However, on the evening of August 18, Himachal Pradesh University Vice-Chancellor Sikander issued an official statement stating “the examinations of the BA, BSc and BCom final-year/semester will be held as per schedule from Wednesday as the HC issued directions that the university may continue with the exam schedule.” He also added that the HP High Court’s order allowing the holding of exams in the state came following a special petition filed by the university on Tuesday.

With the lifting of the stay, the Final Year Exams 2020 of the university are slated to commence from August 19. Vice-Chancellor also informed that exams which were scheduled for August 18 now stand postponed and will be held later on after the current schedule ends.
