IGNOU admissions 2020 deadline extended until August 30; apply @ignou.ac.in

Candidates who have not applied yet can do so at ignouadmissions.samarth.edu.in for admissions and for re-registrations, they can apply at ignou.smarth.edu.in.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) extended the deadline for submission of admission forms and re-registration forms for the July 2020 cycle until August 31. Candidates who have not applied yet can do so at ignouadmissions.samarth.edu.in for admissions and for re-registrations, they can apply at ignou.smarth.edu.in. The outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by the lockdown imposed in order to contain the virus delayed the admission processes for all the colleges this year. Further, board exams and final-year results are also delayed for most education boards impacting the college admission process across the country.

In order to offer some ease to students, IGNOU decided to extend the deadline. IGNOU students who are awaiting their final results will get some relief too. These students will later have to show their mark sheets once the result is released and in the meanwhile will have to submit an undertaking as well along with the application form. Students who have not applied for admission or re-registration can apply following the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of IGNOU, i.e. ignou.ac.in

Step 2: On the homepage, click on admissions

Step 3: A new page with input fields will open

Step 4: Register by entering the required credentials

Step 5: Fill the form, make payment

Students will receive a message on the mobile number and email ID registered with the system once admission is confirmed. Once the admission form is submitted online, the students can track the progress of their admission. Students must note that in order to complete the registration process students have to pay a fee of Rs 200. According to the notification released by IGNOU, there is no fee applicable for reserved category candidates or one subject, from the second course or application onwards, they will have to pay the fee.
