Presidency University Admissions 2021: Presidency University has decided to admit students to its undergraduate courses based on board marks. The decision has been taken considering that the University cannot conduct entrance tests amid the ongoing pandemic situation. In an official notice, the varsity informed that it will prepare a merit list for subjects in arts and science, barring statistics and economics on the basis of marks obtained in Class 10 and Class 12 board exams. Meanwhile, for economics and statistics courses, the enrolment of students will be based on their higher secondary or equivalent 12th standard board marks.

Candidates interested in Presidency University Admissions 2021 must note that the last date to submit online applications is August 20 until 3 pm. According to the reports, Presidency University Vice-Chancellor Anuradha Lohia also confirmed that the University rolled out the details about its admission procedure for UG courses (arts and science) on August 2. It will be based on the marks obtained by students.

Earlier, the higher education department also directed authorities of the state government-run universities not to hold any entrance test or counselling for undergraduate courses as part of the screening process this year and only go by the marks awarded through evaluation method. WBBSE and WBCHSE exams were also canceled this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“In case of tie for preparing the merit lists, the candidates will be judged considering their percentage of aggregate marks obtained in the Class 12 examination at the first instance. A student obtaining more aggregate marks will have a better rank,” the admission notice reads.

It further add, “If a tie exists thereafter, the process will be repeated considering the percentage of marks obtained by them in Madhyamik or equivalent 10th standard examination.”
