THE Impact Rankings 2021: LPU secures rank among top 200 globally

The list suggests that LPU managed to secure the second rank in India (59th globally) in the ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’. 

THE Impact Rankings 2021: Lovely Professional University secured an overwhelming rank among the ‘Top 200 universities in the World’ in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2021. According to the ranking list, LPU has achieved the position among Indian universities under the ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’ category. A total of 57 universities participated from India; 1,240 universities participated globally. The assessment of the Universities by the third annual THE Impact Rankings are done against progress towards the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing a total of 18 rankings, one for each SDG as well as an overall table.

The list suggests that LPU managed to secure the second rank in India (59th globally) in the ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’ category, a parameter that measures universities’ economics research, their employment practices and the share of its students getting placements.

Meanwhile, on the parameter, ‘Partnership for the Goals’, LPU has also been jointly ranked 1st in India. Under this parameter, the assessment is down by viewing the broader ways in which universities support the SDGs through collaboration with other countries, promotion of best practices and publication of data.

Congratulating the University, Ashok Mittal, Chancellor of LPU said, “It is a matter of great pride for us that we have debuted straight into the global top 200 list. Not many Indian universities in the past have featured in the top 200 list and we feel proud to bring this laurel to India.”
