Chandigarh University video row: Chandigarh University University has suspended two hostel wardens for not performing their duty properly. The move comes after protest erupted on campus over the alleged objectionable videos shot and circulated by the varsity student. Owing to the ongoing chaos, Chandigarh University has also declared the holidays until September 24. Earlier, September 19 and 20 were declared as non-teaching days or holidays for students.

The alleged videos were shot in the hostel bathroom by one of the girl students.  Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) GS Bhullar also spoke to the protesting students, after which they had called off the protest.  He also tried to pacify them saying "implicit faith is necessary" and "law is being followed". "We will keep coming to you, implicit faith is necessary," said DIG GS Bhullar.

Meanwhile, some students claimed that the protests were temporarily" halted, and that they will stay in touch with University management, to take an update on the issue of alleged videos of girls in the hostel bathroom, being shot and circulated.

Chandigarh University Director Student Welfare Arvinder Kang said, "Police had a chat today with students. They are satisfied now... First-year students have taken their own stand to not come in front of media as they are freshers, just completed 12th."

The University came out with the statement amid several reports claiming 60 objectionable MMS of students were found in the girl's phone. "All the rumors of objectionable videos shot of other girl students are totally false and baseless," RS Bawa, Pro-Chancellor, Chandigarh University, in an official statement, said, as reported by NDTV.
