NIFT 2026 Counselling Live: Choice Filling Link @nift.admissions.nic.in, Seat Allotment Process, Fees & Documents

As per the NIFT Counselling Guidelines, the last date for withdrawal from the Admission Process 2026 is July 17, 2026 (Midnight) for all candidates.

NIFT 2026 seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/GEN-EWS/ Person With Disability (PwD) in each programme.

NIFT has released the list of B.Des and M.Des for NRI category. Candidates can check the list on the NIFT website.

The allotment of seats for NIFT 2026 will be based on the following parameters:

• Choice opted at the time of counseling registration (academic programs + campuses)
• The category of the candidate
• Seat intake in the college opted for admission
• NIFT 2026 merit rank of the candidate.

NIFT First Seat Allotment will be processed for all eligible candidates as per merit. Then conversion of PwD seats into the respective parent category i.e.

• Open (PwD) --> Open
• EWS(PwD) --> EWS
• OBC (PwD) --> OBC(NCL)
• SC (PwD) --> SC
• ST (PwD) --> ST and re-allotment

After completion of the NIFT third regular round, Spot Round of counselling will be carried out.

NIFT Delhi is frequently ranked among the top design colleges in the country. So, the admission cut-off for the institute is pretty high, especially when compared to the lower-ranked colleges. This is because being a higher-ranked college, NIFT Delhi receives a higher number of applicants.

The registration fee for NIFT is Rs. 9300/-. Candidates must pay the fee before the deadline.

NIFT Provisional Allotment Letter 2026 will be released after the seat allotment for all the rounds.

Locking of choice will be enabled as per NIFT Counselling schedule. Candidates should lock their choices only after they have finalized them. In the absence of choice locking, candidates’ choices will be locked by the system after closing of choice filling schedule. After choice locking, candidate can download their locked choices.

After registration, candidates must fill their preferred course and campus choices by June 25, 2026 (12:00 midnight).

Any candidate who does not fill the choices for NIFT Course and Campus will not be considered for Seat Allocation for regular Seat Allocation Rounds.

The counselling fee for NIFT 2026 SPOT Counselling is Rs.5000/- (Non-Refundable).

NIFT 2026 Choice Filling and Locking is June 06, 2026 to June 25, 2026. 

NIFT counselling will start after the declaration of the NIFT Final result 2026. Candidates who are shortlisted for the counselling process need to get:

• Register for NIFT counselling at the official website of the institute
• Pay the registration fee (non-refundable)
• Fill in the choices of academic programs and campuses 

NIFT is to conduct 3 rounds of seat allotment, followed by a Spot Round if seats remain vacant.

The 20 participating NIFTs offer B.Des and M.Des courses with specializations in various disciplines.

The candidate will be able to select their choice of NIFT 2026 participating institutes (in the order of priority) at the time of filling out the NIFT 2026 counseling registration form.
