NIFT 2026 Counselling (OUT) Live: Registration Link @nift.admissions.nic.in, Seat Allotment Process, Fees & Documents

NIFT Registration Process 2026 for e-Counselling is active now. The counselling is open for NIFT UG & PG Programmes and Lateral Entry from June 15, 2026 to June 22, 2026.

The documents must be valid and in PDF Format for NIFT Counselling 2026. The size of each document has to be between 100 KB to 500 KB.

A 2000 rank in NIFT can get you admission in NIFT College. But the chances of getting admission to the top NIFT institutes may be less. At the 2000 rank, candidates have limited choice and can get into new NIFTs Colleges. If your rank is under 800, then you are likely to get top NIFT Colleges, like NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai, NIFT Bengaluru, etc

The first-year fee for NIFT UG and PG is:

NIFT Delhi is frequently ranked among the top design colleges in the country. So, the admission cut-off for the institute is pretty high, especially when compared to the lower-ranked colleges. This is because being a higher-ranked college, NIFT Delhi receives a higher number of applicants.

NIFT Delhi remains the most competitive campus for B.Des admissions. The seats get filled very early for this.

NIFT 2026 counselling process includes registration, document upload, choice filling, seat allotment, fee payment, and admission confirmation.

The candidate will be able to select their choice of NIFT 2026 participating institutes (in the order of priority) at the time of filling out the NIFT 2026 counseling registration form. 

Candidates who have secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the NIFT final result will be asked to register on the official NIFT counselling portal.

Admission to NIFT will only be confirmed after successful document verification and fee payment. Candidates must upload correct and valid documents.

NIFT Counselling 2026 has begun from June 15, 2026 to June 22, 2026.  Candidates are requested to register for the counselling process.

The 20 participating NIFTs offer B.Des and M.Des courses with specializations in various disciplines.

NIFT 2026 seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/GEN-EWS/ Person With Disability (PwD) in each programme.

NIFT is to conduct 3 rounds of seat allotment, followed by a Spot Round if seats remain vacant.

NIFT counselling will start after the declaration of the NIFT Final result 2026. Candidates who are shortlisted for the counselling process need to get:

• Register for NIFT counselling at the official website of the institute
• Pay the registration fee (non-refundable)
• Fill in the choices of academic programs and campuses 

Common Merit Rank of 1500 is a decent rank to secure a NIFT College. You can get colleges, like NIFT Delhi, NIFT Mumbai, NIFT Kolkata, if you belong to OBC, ST, SC or EWS Category. If you are from General Category, then the chances of getting top NIFT Colleges are less. However, you can still get into these colleges for specialisations like Knitwear, Accessory Design, Leather Design, etc. 

The factor which determine the NIFT Cutoff are given below.

•  Number of candidates participating in the NIFT counselling process
• Merit rank of applicants
• Seat intake for the program opted for admission 
• Category under which admission is sought
• Institute applied for admission 

All the candidates who have cleared NIFT 2026 selection process and secured a Common Merit Rank (CMR) for NIFT Admissions-2026 should register by June 22, 2026. 

NIFT 2026 Choice Filling and Locking is June 06, 2026 to June 25, 2026. 

The counselling fee for NIFT 2026 SPOT Counselling is Rs.5000/- (Non-Refundable).

The registration fee for NIFT is Rs. 9300/-. Candidates must pay the fee before the deadline.

Any candidate who does not fill the choices for NIFT Course and Campus will not be considered for Seat Allocation for regular Seat Allocation Rounds.

The last date of withdrawal from NIFT Admission process 2026 for all candidates is 17th July, 2026 till 12.00 Midnight.
