The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has invited applications for e-Yantra, a robotics outreach project. The last date to apply is September 20, 2021.Β

The competition funded by the Ministry of Education and hosted atΒ IIT BombayΒ teaches hardcore engineering skills. The first stage trains students through simulators and the second stage tests participants on problems modelled as β€˜themes’.Β e-Yantra provides the resources, training and guidance and even a robotic kit to students whose theme requires hardware. Undergraduate students register as a team of four – any year, any branch from the same institute. This year’s competition has a focus on solving agricultural problems. If they qualify for the finals, then a travel allowance and boarding/ lodging at IIT Bombay is provided for the duration of the finals at IIT Bombay. e-Yantra teaches students state-of-art skills that prepares youngsters for the future. The coveted prize is a six-week paid summer internship with e-Yantra where participants get to work on ambitious technical projects and get exposed to a variety of extra-curricular talks on topics such as geo-politics, money & investing, soft skills, theatre workshops, meditation sessions, lectures on history, heritage visits to monuments and so on.Β

Who can participate in e-Yantra?Β 

  • OpenΒ  for all students across the worldΒ 
  • ForΒ  full time engineering/science/polytechnic college students inΒ  universities/colleges, for a degree in any discipline.Β 
  • RegisterΒ  as a team of 2-4 members; team members can be of anyΒ  year/branch/department but must belong to the sameΒ  college/institution.Β 
  • EachΒ  student can join only one team.Β 
  • OneΒ  member of the team should be designated as the team leader, who isΒ  responsible for all communications with e-Yantra.Β
