Big Update! JEE Main 2026 to Have On Screen Calculator for the First Time
NTA JEE Main 2026 registrations have started. NTA has introduced some significant changes to the JEE Main 2026 CBT exam. There is an introduction of a basic onscreen calculator and accessibility mode. Check details below.
NTA JEE Mains application form 2026 has been released, and the registrations for the session 1 exam will be open till November 27. This year, NTA has made some changes to the registration process that include the fetching of data for the application process from the Aadhar cards of the candidates. Along with that, a major update has been made to the computer-based test. Now, the candidates will be getting an on-screen calculator.
This calculator will be available on the computer screens of the candidates and can be used for addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. The calculator also includes functions for square roots, percentages, and more. This will help candidates to complete their calculations faster, and it will be available throughout the exam duration.
JEE Main 2026 CBT test will also have a screen magnifier. Using this option, candidates can drag their cursor over a section on the screen which they want to enlarge for better viewing, if needed.
Apart from that, there will be an option for 'Accessibility'. This will allow the candidates to switch to dark mode or light mode throughout the course of the JEE Main 2026 exam. Also, candidates can use this feature to increase or decrease the font size of the texts appearing on the screen. This feature can also be used to enable cursor trail and select its size.
JEE Main 2026 exam will be held between January 21 to 30, 2026, with two shifts every day - shift 1 from 9:00 am to 12 noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm. The exact exam dates will be announced later on. Candidates will be allotted an exam date, time and the exam centre via their JEE Main 2026 admit card.
