VJTI Spot Round 2026: 11,212 Candidates in Merit List
The inclusion of 11,212 candidates in the provisional merit list indicates strong competition for the limited seats available under the VJTI institute-level spot round. Candidates will be considered for admission strictly according to inter-se merit and the availability of seats in the respective BTech programmes. VJTI has notified 70 vacant seats for the spot admission process. The vacancies are spread across the institute’s BTech programmes, including Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production Engineering (Sandwich) and Textile Technology.

Since the number of eligible candidates is significantly higher than the available seats, being included in the provisional merit list does not guarantee admission. Seat allotment will depend on the candidate’s merit position, category, preferred branch and seats available when the candidate reports for counselling.
VJTI Spot Admission 2026 Dates
The VJTI Institute-Level Spot Round will be conducted offline at the VJTI campus on September 11, 12, and 13, 2026. Candidates called for counselling will have to report to the institute as per the schedule and instructions issued by VJTI.
Commonly asked questions
With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.
With 120 marks in MHT-CET (General category), you are unlikely to get top colleges/branches (like CSE/IT in COEP, VJTI) but can aim for mid-tier private/university-affiliated colleges in less competitive branches.
The round-wise cutoff ranks for MHT CET counselling can be checked on the counselling website at fe2026.mahacet.org. The cutoff for each round for all the participating institutes and branch is made available on the MHT CET portal.
