BITSAT 2026 and WBJEE 2026 Exam Date Clash May Affect Engineering Aspirants
Engineering aspirants who are appearing for BITSAT or WBJEE must be aware that the exam dates clash. If you are appearing for both exams, here's what you must note to ensure you can attempt both entrances.
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board has announced the WBJEE exam date 2026 as May 24. BITS Pilani is scheduled to conduct the BITSAT session 2 exam from May 24 to 26. With this overlap between the two popular engineering entrances, students seek a possible solution to attempt both exams for better admission chances.
Both exams are important for students aiming for engineering admissions. Through BITSAT, they can get admission to the three BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. WBJEE is held for admission into undergraduate engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture courses at universities, government colleges, and self-financed institutes in West Bengal. Since both these exams are open to Indian nationals, students often attempt to get admission into a good engineering college.
While students do get two attempts at BITSAT in a year, the same is not the case for WBJEE. Conducting the BITSAT exam for two separate sessions is beneficial for students who get another attempt at the exam, and thus, missing out on the second attempt is not an option. But BITS Pilani offers students a solution to avoid the clash through its slot booking facility.
How Can Students Avoid BITSAT WBJEE Exam Clash?
The BITSAT 2026 slot booking for session 2 will be available from May 13 to 15. Between this time, registered candidates must log in and select their preferred exam date and shift timings as per availability. The authorities will then release the admit card as per the slot booked. To avoid the exam clash with WBJEE, students can choose May 25 or 26 as their exam dates and a shift of their choice.
The engineering entrance exam season often sees overlap between top engineering exams. Thus, students must stay up to date with the official exam schedule for better planning.
