Capt. BVJK Sharma Inaugurates Pillai Aviation Experience Center at Pillai University

NMIA CEO Capt. B.V.J.K. Sharma inaugurated the Pillai Aviation Experience Center at Pillai University, Navi Mumbai. The new facility aims to prepare students for careers in aviation.

Pillai University Opens Aviation Experience Center

Pillai University, Navi Mumbai, has inaugurated its Aviation Experience Center to give students practical exposure to the aviation industry. The facility was inaugurated by Capt. B.V.J.K. Sharma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). The Aviation Experience Center has been set up to help students understand how the aviation industry works through hands-on learning. The university said the centre will support students who want to build careers in aviation by giving them practical knowledge alongside classroom learning.

Speaking at the event, Capt. Sharma said India’s aviation sector is growing rapidly and there is a rising need for trained professionals. He encouraged students to make the most of such learning opportunities and prepare themselves for future careers in the industry. He also appreciated Pillai University for introducing the new facility for students.

After the inauguration, Capt. Sharma took part in Launchpad 2026. This industry orientation programme was organised by the School of Business for first-year undergraduate students. It introduced students to different career opportunities and current industry trends. It also featured sessions by industry leaders, including Dr. Samir Karkhanis, CEO of Yangpoo University Partners, Amit Naik, Director at Deloitte India, and Fenil Vadakken, Chief Growth and Strategy Officer for Emerging Markets at the Institute of Analytics, United Kingdom.

The speakers shared their experiences and discussed the skills students need to succeed in today’s changing job market. They also highlighted the importance of industry exposure, practical learning and continuous skill development.

With the launch of the Aviation Experience Center and programmes such as Launchpad 2026, Pillai University aims to give students better exposure to the industry and help them become job-ready before they graduate.
