MHT CET 2026: PCM, PCB Candidates Can Apply for BBA, BCA, BMS Admission by July 20

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has allowed the MHT CET 2026 candidates who appeared in either PCM or PCB streams can apply for admission to other courses. This decision broadens the options for students who now want to pursue other courses and explore more options. Apart from the regular engineering and technology courses, PCM/PCB students are now eligible for admission to BBA, BCA and BMS programmes based on their MHT CET scores. Candidates do not need a separate entrance score for these admissions if they are eligible under the admission rules and have a valid MHT CET 2026 score.

To apply for admission, candidates have to complete the counselling registration at cetcell.mahacet.org. The last date to apply for BBA, BCA and BMS programmes through MHT CET 2026 scores is July 20, 2026.

  • Visit the official MHT CET CAP counselling portal at cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • Register using the required login credentials.
  • Fill in personal, academic, and entrance examination details.
  • Upload all prescribed documents.
  • Pay the application fee through online mode.
  • Submit the application and download the confirmation page for future reference.

What's Next?

Candidates who complete the counselling registration have to complete the document verification either through online or offline modes. The authorities will then prepare a merit list of eligible candidates. Those who are listed in the merit list will be called for admission based on their merit. Candidates must fulfil the cutoffs to be eligible for admission.

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

Higher and Technical Education department in the year 2023 announced that 50:50 weightage will be given to CET score and Class 12th marks for admission to undergraduate professional courses in Maharashtra state from the academic session 2023-24. As per this criteria, marks of class 12 and MHT CET will be considered for preparing the merit list in 50:50 ratio. Only those candidates who will have their names in the merit list will be considered for admisison.
