The Consortium of Medical, Engineering & Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducted the COMEDK 2026 exam on May 9, 2026. The COMEDK UGET 2026 was held in two shifts across different exam centres in India. Around 85% of registered candidates appeared for the engineering entrance test, according to media reports. Reports stated that out of nearly 1.3 lakh registered candidates, more than 1.1 lakh students appeared for the exam. Karnataka recorded an attendance of around 88%, while Bengaluru saw nearly 90% attendance.

COMEDK UGET 2026 Paper Analysis

Many students said the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate to tough. Mathematics was considered lengthy by several candidates, while Physics was said to be tough and calculative. Chemistry was said to be easier across both shifts. Students also reported that time management was critical, and many struggled to even attempt all questions.

No. The COMEDK UGET exam is not harder compared to the JEE Mains or Advanced. Those who are preparing for these exams can easily attempt the COMEDK exam because of overlapping of syllabus.

Q:   What is normalisation in COMEDK 2026?
A: 

Since the COMEDK exam is conducted in multiple sessions, the authorities use a normalisation method to ensure no candidate is at a disadvantage because of varying difficulty levels. Normalisation in COMEDK UGET signifies the percentage of candidates who have received a score equal to or lower than the candidate.
In case of ties in the total percentile scores, if any, the same will be resolved using
the following revised tie-breaking rules, in the order specified:
1) Higher Percentile score of Physics and Mathematics marks taken together.
2) Higher Percentile score in Mathematics.
3) Higher Percentile score in Chemistry.
4) Age of the Candidate, the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger
candidate.

COMEDK 2026 Exam Concluded: What's Next for Candidates?

With the conclusion of the exam, candidates are now awaiting the official answer key to estimate their probable scores and ranks. The COMEDK UGET 2026 provisional answer key will be released on May 13, 2026. Once the answer key is released, candidates can compare their responses and calculate their estimated marks. COMEDK will also open an objection or challenge window for students who find any discrepancy in the provisional answers. Candidates will have to submit objections along with supporting documents and the required fee by May 15.
