IIT Guwahati has reopened GATE 2026 application form correction window till TODAY. Last date to make edits is available till TODAY (November 18). Candidates who want to make changes in their GATE 2026 registration form can get it done within the due date. Check complete details here. 

GATE 2026 Application Form Correction Last Date Extended

IIT Guwahati has reopened GATE 2026 application form correction facility for TODAY (Nov 18) only. Candidates can edit at the GOAPS portal using their enrollment ID and password. The details updated in the exam form will reflect on GATE admit card 2026. 

How to edit GATE 2026 Application Form?

Candidates can follow steps below to make changes in their GATE 2026 registration form -

  • Visit GATE’s official website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  • Go to application portal link and login using credentials
  • Select detail to make changes
  • Update information and pay fee amount through netbanking/credit card/debit card/UPI
  • Submit and take printout of updated application form

What details can be edited in GATE Registration Form 2026?

Candidates can edit following details during GATE 2026 form correction facility -

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Paper choice
  • Exam city choices 
  • Personal information
  • Qualifying degree details

Fee for each change is different and can be paid using netbanking, credit card, debit card or UPI. Candidates are advised to keep payment receipt safe, as it will be required during admission process. 

GATE 2026 Branch-Wise Schedule Release Date

The conducting IIT (Guwahati) has released GATE 2026 branch-wise dates on the official website. Registered candidates can download their hall ticket on January 2 using their enrollment ID and password. The exam will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 in two shifts for 30 test papers.

GATE 2026 Exam Pattern

GATE is a computer-based exam, and time duration for attempting question paper is three hours. The total mark is 100 comprising questions from general aptitude, engineering mathematics, and subject-specific. GATE exam pattern 2026 is different for some branches. Candidates must check all details carefully and revise according to that. 

Q: Β  What document is required for OBC-NCL and EWS category while filling the GATE application form?
A:

OBC-NCL and EWS category need not submit any category certificate while filling the GATE application form. All candidates have to submit the following -

  • Photograph and signature (as per specifications)
  • Valid photo ID (such as Aadhar card, PAN Card, Voter ID, etc.)
  • Foreign nationals have to upload, either a Driving License or passport (in the valid ID section)

Category candidates must upload their caste certificate, and PwD/Dyslexic candidates must submit their medical (PwD or dyslexic certificate) to avail compensatory time.

A:

Yes, GATE 2026 application form correction window has started. The last date to edit is November 10 (extended). During the correction facility, candidates will be able to change a few particulars, such as exam city, category, exam centre, etc. This year, there is a hike of INR 100 for gender, category, and PwD change.

Q: Β  What is the GATE 2026 registration last date?
A:

The IIT Guwahati has released the GATE application form on August 28 at the GOAPS portal. The registration window is now active on the official website of IIT Guwahati GATE. The last date to apply has been revised to October 7 - without late fees. Incase, you've missed out the deadline, you can still submit the application form till October 13, but you need to pay a late fee during this timeline.
