GATE 2026 Registration: IIT Madras Extends Last Date for Facial Registration, Admit Card Download at GATE Login
GATE 2026 registration: IIT Madras has extended the last date for GATE 2026 facial registrationย till TODAY (Feb 3). Candidates who have received an email request for facial registration can login and complete their verification by today. Download GATE admit cardย at GOAPS portal at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. IIT Guwahati is conducting GATE 2026 on Feb 7, 8, 14, and 15, and with that, IIT Madras has a new initiative of implementing facial recognition registration for candidateโs authentication and verification purposes.ย
However, due to high demand for accessing the server, students have faced a delay in facial registration. Therefore, IIT Madras has extended the last date to complete GATE 2026 facial recognition till Feb 3 (Today).ย
For now, GATE 2026 facial registrationย is made accessible to IIT Madras zone applicants only. However, it is expected that this procedure will be implemented across all IITs in the next year. Check official update below -
Students who have received the mail must click on the link and complete their facial registration verification before the due date. The process is mandatory in order to appear for GATE 2026 exam.
How to download admit card at GATE Login 2026?
Candidates appearing for GATE 2026, can download their hall ticket using following steps mentioned below -
- Visit official website- gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Click on applicant portal and enter enrollment ID and password
- Download GATE 2026 admit card and take printout.
Students are advised to keep their GATE hall ticket ready along with their valid ID proof.ย Candidates appearing must reach GATE exam centre at least 90 minutes before the commencement of test. The GATE 2026 shift timings are forenoon - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and afternoon - 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Here's what different GATE status mean-
- Received - this means that application has been received
- Under scrutiny - form is under review
- Accepted - means form is accepted by authorities
- Defect status - has discrepancies in form and needs to be corrected within given time
- Status after rectification - application status after submitting rectification
- Rejected - means GATE form is rejected for valid reasons
Candidates can check their GATE application status using enrollment ID and password
The last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees was October 13. For submission with late fees, the application form window remained active from October 7 to October 13. The registration fee with late fees is as follows -
- For female/SC/ST and PwD candidates, the fee is INR 1500
- For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2500
