GATE 2026 Registration Start Date: Steps to apply
The step-by-step process to register for the GATE 2026 at the GOAPS portal is as follows -
- Visit the official GATE’s 2026 website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Click on the application portal (goaps.iitg.ac.in) and select the “New Candidate Registration” link
- Now enter the details asked - name, registered mobile number, email address, etc. and submit
- Once the registration is complete, candidates will receive an enrollment ID and password.
- Log in using the credentials and fill out the application form
- Upload the documents as per specifications and pay the application fees.
- Submit the form and keep a copy for future purposes.

GATE 2026 Predictions: Will GATE 2026 be tougher than GATE 2025?
This year, IIT Guwahati is conducting the GATE 2026 exam. IIT Guwahati also conducted the GATE 2018. Based on the structure of the previous year’s GATE question paper, students can expect that the GATE 2026 exam will be moderate to difficult level. The questions will be more concept-based and critical-thinking based.
