IIT Bombay has started GATE 2026 MTech admission for COAP counseling 2026 today (March 27). The last date to apply without fine is April 10, and with fine is April 16 (17:00). GATE 2026 scorecard release date is March 27, and COAP 2026 registration has started. Read below for more.
IIT Bombay MTech Admission through GATE 2026
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has started the admission process for MTech/MTech+PhD (Dual Degree). The official website to apply is portal.iitb.ac.in. The last date to apply without late fees is April 10, and with late fees is April 16 (17:00).
Steps to apply for IIT Bombay GATE 2026 MTech Admission
Candidates can check the process below to fill IIT Bombay GATE COAP 2026 application form below -
- Go to official website - https://acad.iitb.ac.in/admissions/masters/mtech or the link mentioned above.
- Register with IITB External User Registration Portal
- Fill in details and verify GATE details or apply as Non-GATE/IIT BTech applicant
- Fill rest of the details
- Upload documents as per specifications
- Pay application fees and submit IIT Bombay MTech 2026-27 Application Form
Note: Candidates can fill more than one programme, and can select up to 10 preferences. If a discipline has multiple specialisations, then each specialisation is counted as one.

Candidates must upload the following documents at the time of filling the application form -
- Scanned photo
- Scanned signature
- Marksheet of last semester or degree certificate
- Caste certificate (OBC-NC/SC/ST)
- EWS certificate (GN-EWS)
- Physical Disability Certificate
- Statement of purpose (if applicable)

The seat intake for IIT Bombay MTech admission 2026 is expected to be around 900 -938 seats across various disciplines. The results will be uploaded on COAP portal for TA/TAP/RA/RAP category. Candidates have to login to the portal to view their results/offers and choose one of the option given. The COAP 2026 registration link is now activated, and candidates can visit the official website to generate their COAP ID for GATE counselling 2026.
