IIT Delhi Signs MoUs with 18 NITs

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 18 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) to create academic and research collaboration network. This initiative was launched at IIT Delhi and aims to strengthen higher education, research, innovation and talent development in line with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Under this partnership, students and faculty members of participating NITs will get opportunities for academic exchanges, joint research projects, access to research facilities, faculty development programmes and multidisciplinary innovation activities.

A major highlight of initiative is introduction of special pathways for meritorious NIT students. All undergraduate students can spend their final year at IIT Delhi as Special Exchange Students, while postgraduate students can get into research immersion programmes.

Early PG Admission

This collaboration also introduces an Early Admission Scheme, allowing high performing students from partner NITs to apply for MTech, MS (Research) and PhD programmes at IIT Delhi without appearing for GATE or other national level entrance examinations, subject to academic and research performance criteria.

IIT Delhi has launched ALIGN (Academic Linkages for Innovation and National Growth). The programme includes a Predoctoral Fellowship Scheme, a Research Seed Grant Scheme for collaborative projects, and a Research Immersion Visit Scheme to strengthen academic ties between IIT Delhi and NITs.
