IIT Hyderabad invites applications for MTech in Artificial Intelligence

The last date to apply for MTech in artificial intelligence at IIT Hyderabad is April 14, 2021.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, through the School of Artificial Intelligence, invites applications for MTech in artificial intelligence. It offers BTech, MTech, PhD and a variety of minor programmes in artificial intelligence. The last date to submit applications for the programme is April 14, 2021.

The School of AI says that its mission is to train students to have a sound understanding of the fundamentals of the theory and practice of artificial intelligence and machine learning, enable students to become leaders in the industry and academia nationally and internationally, and meet the pressing demands of the country in the areas mentioned above.

MTech in Artificial Intelligence - Research areas

Students who get selected for the programme will get to work on the following research areas:

• Big data analysis
• Artificial intelligence for agriculture
• Social media and text analysis
• Video quality assessment
• Deep learning
• Explainable machine learning
• Autonomous vehicles
• Computer vision
• Inference algorithms
• Machine learning in astronomy
• Generative models
• Speech systems
• Bayesian learning
• Robotics recommendation systems and data mining
• Graphical models
• Computer architectures for artificial intelligence
• Artificial intelligence and the internet of things
• Artificial intelligence and high-performance computing natural language processing

MTech in Artificial Intelligence at IIT Hyderabad

Students can opt for the following streams based on their qualifications and the required eligibility criteria:

MTech Two Year Programme

There are two options available under this programme:

• Mtech two-year teaching assistant for which candidates with a BTech, BE, MSc or equivalent degree in any discipline with valid GATE score, or those with a BTech degree or MSc in mathematics or applied mathematics degree from any IIT may apply.
• There is another MTech two-year, self-sponsored programme for which candidates with a BTech, BE, MSc or equivalent degree in any discipline even without GATE score can apply. These candidates will be selected after a written test and interview.

MTech three-year programme

Candidates with a d BTech, BE, MSc or equivalent degree in any discipline with a CGPA of 8.0 or above, and have a valid GATE score in CS, EC, EE, MA or ST can apply. Applicants must have already completed BTech, BE or MSc degree or, at least, should be in the final year of their degree.
