IIT Kanpur Convocation 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will celebrate academic achievements of its graduating students at its 59th Convocation Ceremony on July 15, 2026. A total of 3,104 students from various undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and professional programmes will receive their degrees.ย
IIT Kanpur convocation will be graced by Dr. Pawan Goenka, Chairperson of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) under Department of Space, Government of India.
IIT Kanpur will be presided over by Chairperson of Board of Governors (BoG), IIT Kanpur, along with Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur. To ensure that all graduating students can participate comfortably, IIT Kanpur has planned convocation in two separate sessions.
IIT Kanpur Convocation to Be Held in Two Sessions
The first session will be held at institute's Main Auditorium, which has a seating capacity of 1,250, where outstanding students and medal winners will be honoured. The second session of the IIT Kanpur convocation will take place across different lecture halls. The ceremonies will be led by Chairperson of Senate Postgraduate Committee (SPGC) and the Chairperson of Senate Under-Graduate Committee.

Dress Code for IIT Kanpur Graduating Students
IIT Kanpur will continue its recommended convocation dress code this year. Male students are advised to wear a cream-coloured kurta with white pyjamas. Female students are encouraged to wear a cream-coloured kurta with white churidar or leggings or a cream-coloured saree, along with formal footwear.
