IIT Kanpur Walk-in PhD Admissions

IIT Kanpur PhD Application 2026: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has invited applications for Walk-in Admissions to its PhD Programme in Department of Aerospace Engineering. Candidates can undertake research in fields such as Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Flight Dynamics and Control, Structures and Aeroelasticity, Computational Mechanics and Aero thermodynamics.

As per IIT Kanpur, interested candidates can register for PhD admission until June 16, 2026. Further, online interview for those shortlisted is scheduled to be held on June 18, 2026.  Selected students will get scholarship of up to INR 42,000 per month. 

IIT Kanpur said this programme aims to encourage talented students to pursue research careers and contribute to innovation in aerospace sector. They can complete registration through online application form available at iitk.ac.in/aero/. 

Who can apply for IIT Kanpur Walk-in PhD Admissions? 

Candidates who are

• 4th year BTech students from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes with CGPA above 7.5

• 2nd year MTech students from CFTIs with CGPA above 8.0

• Students from Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and other engineering disciplines can apply
