IIT Kanpur Launches 4 Year Degree Course in B Cyber; Admission Without JEE Advanced

The newly launched course of Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B Cyber) is a first-of-its-kind undergraduate program designed to create future cybersecurity leaders. IIT Kanpur will admit students from this year based on JEE Mains score and a special selection process. Read more below.

IIT Kanpur Launches 4 Year Degree Course in B Cyber Course; Admission Without JEE Advanced

IIT Kanpur is starting a new undergraduate programme, Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B Cyber) from the 2026-27 academic session. This one-of-a-kind course will begin in July 2026 and will be offered through the Wadhwani School of AI and Intelligent Systems.

IIT Kanpur Admission Process for Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B Cyber) Course

Admission to the program will be based on a special selection process involving shortlisting through JEE Main 2026 performance and demonstrated prior work in cybersecurity, followed by a test that includes a hackathon.

No JEE Advanced rank is required to get into this programme.

Recently, IIT Kanpur has also hired this 19-year-old ethical hacker, Nisarga Adhikary, to join their C3iHub, the cybersecurity and cyber defence research centre. He has been appointed as an OSINT and Threat Intelligence Engineer.
