IIT Roorkee Introduces MTech in E-Waste Management in Collaboration with C-MET
IIT Roorkee has launched MTech programme in E-Waste Management to build national expertise and address growing challenges of electronic waste in India.
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in partnership with Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology Hyderabad has announced launch of new MTech programme in E-Waste Management. This initiative is part of broader effort to strengthen national capabilities and develop specialised expertise to tackle growing environmental and technological challenges by electronic waste.
As part of this collaboration IIT Roorkee and C-MET have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together in key areas such as advanced materials research, e-waste recycling and development of innovative technologies. Through this joint effort, both institutions aim to contribute meaningfully to addressing most pressing environmental concerns of digital age.
The partnership further opens avenues for student internships, joint doctoral research and mutual access to cutting-edge R and D infrastructure. It reflects a shared vision to enhance India’s capabilities in sustainable electronics and innovation-driven manufacturing. The collaboration is structured to enable the exchange of faculty, researchers, and students between IIT Roorkee and C-MET. This alliance between academia and a government research institution underscores the growing significance of collaborative efforts in addressing national challenges through science, technology, and sustainable innovation.
